This year we joyously celebrate the 55th birthday of our beloved institution, an occasion to extend warm congratulations to all past and present members of the University community for their achievements and for their untiring efforts in helping the University fulfill the mission of nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.

The themes we have adopted for the celebrations – Excellence‧Innovation‧Whole Person Education – would be entirely familiar to our cherished founding fathers because these ideals have been the driving force behind Hong Kong Baptist University throughout its history and we remain steadfastly committed to them.

Throughout this year, we shall take great pride in showcasing the talents and strengths of our University that have served us well at the time of our rapid development.

In particular we shall highlight four of the research areas where HKBU stands out among its peer institutions – health, the environment, contemporary China studies and cross-cultural studies.

We wish to extend a sincere welcome to all members of the community to join us in celebrating this special anniversary.
